Best Town for Camping with a Dog

Question: What is the best place to stay in a camper with a dog? We'd like to leave her in doggie day care some days, but go around and have activities and walk around town with her other days.

Dee's Reply: Hi Sherr - Provincetown is definitely the dog-friendliest town on Cape Cod. A few years ago, P'town was recognized by Dog Fancy magazine as the most dog-friendly town in the entire USA. And it's a well deserved accolade!

Everywhere you go in town you'll see dogs with their people, out and about strolling the streets, having a bite to eat at a local restaurant or an adult beverage at a pub, and walking on the beach.

(Provincetown is one of the few Cape Cod towns with dog-friendly beaches in the summer months.)

There's also a fantastic dog park in town called "Pilgrim Bark Park". Here's a link to the dog park's website for details about the park, along with tons of info about dog-oriented places to stay and things to do in the area.

In my campgrounds directory you'll find quite a few local camping areas that allow well-behaved dogs, including a few in Provincetown and some in nearby Outer Cape towns.
