I haven't heard or read anything about free canoes being offered. So I checked some of my sources, and I still can't find any info about free canoe offers in the Nauset Beach area.

P.S. The Cape Cod National Seashore offers ranger-led canoe trips in the Nauset Marsh area in Eastham. Use of a canoe is included, but there's a small fee charged for those outings.
