Tips for Finding The Best Hotels in Cape Cod at the Lowest Room Rates
It's actually quite easy to find budget-friendly Cape Cod hotels, motels, and resorts. We have lots of them here!
The challenge often comes when you start looking for the lowest room rates and best special deals available for your preferred Cape Cod accommodations.
(You do want to keep your lodging costs as low as possible, don't you?!)
To save you some time and effort, here are my step-by-step tips and tricks for finding the perfect Cape Cod MA lodging for you, at the lowest possible cost ...
STEP #1 - GETTING STARTED
I'm an "instant gratification" kind of person. So I love the travel search engines that search lots of hotels on lots of booking sites, all at once.
When I'm looking for hotels and motels for our family's travel, I begin with Hotels Combined®. With just a few clicks, it brings me loads of information from 30+ booking sites. Plus, I find it really easy to use.
Do you like to do things the easy way, too?
Here's a simple Hotels Combined® search box to get you started.
It's an interactive search tool, so you can easily do all your lodging research (and make your reservations, too!) right from this little box ...
- Just type the name of a town in the space marked "City". (For example: Falmouth, MA.)
- Then put in your "Check-in" and "Check-out" dates, or pick some dates at random if you're not sure exactly when you're coming.
- Next, click "Search".

STEP #2: NARROWING DOWN YOUR CHOICES
Now, check out any lodgings that catch your eye. Take a look at all the photos, traveler reviews, hotel amenities, and the average room rate.
When you've found a few hotels, motels, B&Bs or resorts that look like just what you want ...
STEP #3: FIND THE BEST RATE FOR YOUR ROOM
This is where the challenge come is.
To find the best published rates and specials, you'll need to do a little digging.
Sometimes one booking company offers a lower rate or a special deal that the other companies don't have. So be sure to click on each company's tabs, especially the tabs marked "Room Type".
That's where you'll sometimes find a bigger or better room for the same price as a standard room - or maybe even a lower price.
You just have to click around a little bit and see what you discover.
It might take you an extra minute or two ... but the way I figure it, a couple extra clicks cost me nothing - and they might save me a lot!
STEP #4: MAKING SURE YOU'VE FOUND THE BEST DEAL
Many hotels in Cape Cod are locally owned and operated. That's a good thing, because local management often has more flexibility to negotiate on room rates, discounts, upgrades, etc.
So it's always a good idea to pick up the telephone, dial the hotel's local number, and ask (very tactfully, of course!) for an even better deal than you found online.
If you're able to negotiate a better rate over the phone, wonderful! If not, then go for the online deal.
Either way, you'll know you've done everything possible to get the best deal available for your vacation lodging.
STEP #5: BEFORE YOU RESERVE ...
Are you ready to make your reservation? Not yet!
There's one more thing that you absolutely, positively must do.
Find out about the hotel's cancellation policy!
Hotels in Cape Cod do enforce their cancellation policies. So before you make your reservation, learn exactly what the cancellation policy is - and be prepared to meet it.
