Where to Find Rental Cabins, Cottages, or Yurts?

by Lee
(Pennsylvania, USA)

Question: Where on Cape Cod can we find cabin, cottage, or yurt rentals? We don't do tent camping anymore. Wanting to visit in September.

Dee's Reply: Hi Lee - Of the three lodging options you've mentioned, yurts are in shortest supply on Cape Cod. So let's start there, then move on to cabin and cottage rentals.

Where to Rent a Yurt

There are only two places I know of where you can rent a yurt: Shawme-Crowell State Forest in Sandwich and Nickerson State Park in Brewster.

Where to Rent a Cabin

Quite a few Cape Cod campgrounds offer cabin rentals:

Bourne Scenic Park in Buzzards Bay has rustic cabins and a rustic lodge for rent.

Lawrence Pond Village in Sandwich rents 2-room and 3-room cabins.

Sippewissett Campground and Cabins in Falmouth offers 1-3 room cabin rentals.

Cape Cod Campresort in East Falmouth has something a little different ... cabin/cottage-style RVs for rent (on-site).

Maurice's Campground in Wellfleet rents single or duplex cabins.

Adventure Bound Camp Resort in North Truro has RVs rentals (on-site).

Here's more about each of these camping areas.

Where to Rent a Cottage

What kind of cottage do you have in mind? Beachfront? Pond-side? A little retreat in the woods? Maybe a quaint cottage in walking distance to town?

There are vacation cottages for rent all over the Cape in all styles, sizes and price ranges.

Depending on when in September you're planning to be here, you might find some pretty sweet deals, too. (Labor Day weekend is still considered "in season" on Cape Cod. After that, rental rates tend to drop - sometimes by a lot!)

If you're still trying to decide which area/town to stay in, have a look at my Cape Cod guides. They'll help you get a feel for what each town is like.

Then pop on over to HomeAway to see what vacation cottages are available in your preferred locations.

Wherever you decide to stay, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful Cape Cod vacation. If you have more questions while you're planning your getaway, please feel free to ask!

Best Regards,

Dee
