Welcome to Spring on Cape Cod! In April, our local events calendar begins to wake up from its long winter's nap, too. (Yay!) This month you'll find lots of fun stuff to do all over the Cape, both indoors and out ... something for every member of the family. So come and enjoy!!

Lower Cape Home & Garden Show

When:  April 6, 2019, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Lower Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, 351 Pleasant Lake Avenue, Harwich

Admission: Free

The Chambers of Commerce of the towns of Harwich, Brewster, Chatham, Orleans and Eastham have gotten together to sponsor this popular annual event.

You'll see the newest, most innovative products and services for your home and garden at the Show, along with interior design ideas, decorative accessories, health and fitness info, financial planning, electronics and seasonal items.


Family Outdoor Adventure Day

When: April 6, 2019, 1 to 4 p.m. (rain date April 7th)

Where: Oakcrest Cove upper cabins, 34 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, Forestdale

Admission: Free

It's time to banish those winter doldrums once and for all - and this family fun day is the perfect way to do just that!

Whatever you love about the great outdoors, you and your family will find plenty to enlighten and entertain you at this event. This is just a tiny sampling of what's happening here:

  • Mountain bike test drives
  • Fly fishing demos
  • Make a paracord bracelet

  • S'mores over the campfire

Be sure to stick around for the Coast Guard's search and rescue demonstration at 3:30 p.m. on Peter's Pond!


Festival of Museums 2019

When: April 6, 2019, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Hyannis Youth & Community Center, 141 Bassett Lane, Hyannis MA

Many Cape Cod visitors (and I'm sad to say, some "locals", too) don't realize what a wealth of fantastic museums we have right here on the Cape.

Want to see for yourself? This year's Festival of Museums brings together 30+ of the Cape and islands' top museums, galleries and historical societies, all in one place, for a fun-filled day of exhibits, events and presentations!

Note to all you Red Sox fans out there ... the 2018 World Series Championship trophy will be on display from noon to 2 p.m. How 'bout that for a fan-tastic photo opp?! 


Sandwich Bazaar and Farmers Market - Opening Day

When: Opening day is April 24, 2019

Where: 34 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, Sandwich

Admission: Free

This is opening day for the oldest and largest flea market and farmers market on the Upper Cape.

The Sandwich Bazaar takes place every Wednesday from late April to early October and hosts vendors with everything from local produce to hand-crafted jewelry to organic dog treats.

** The Bazaar is also held on Sundays from late June to late September.
