Welcome to Spring on Cape Cod! In April, our local events calendar begins to wake up from its long winter's nap. (Yay!)
This month you'll find fun things to do all over the Cape, both indoors and out ... something for every member of the family. So come and enjoy!!

Fish ... running? Yes, indeed! And they climb ladders, too!!
We see these amazing feats every spring when thousands of herring migrate from the wide-open ocean to our local rivers, streams, lakes and ponds to spawn.

It's time again for the oldest and largest flea market on Cape Cod!
The Sandwich Bazaar takes place Wednesdays and Sundays from April to October and hosts vendors with everything from local produce to hand-crafted jewelry to organic dog treats.

Looking for something fun to do with the kids? Cape Cod National Seashore goes all out with special programs and events for April school vacation week and beyond!

activities and participate in an award ceremony.

Flower Angels invites you to indulge in the art of flower arranging in support of a wonderful cause.
Flower Angels volunteers will guide you in making a gorgeous flower arrangement to take home or give to a loved one. Bring your own small vase or container, or use one of theirs.
Flowers and refreshments provided.
Ticket proceeds from this event support Flower Angels and its mission of repurposing donated flowers into floral arrangements for delivery to Cape Cod nursing home residents.
Space is limited, and tickets tend to sell out quickly!

Better Together captures the essence of perfect pairings and the magic they inspire, as CCSO shares the stage with the incredible Naughton Sisters - a twin sister piano duo captivating audiences throughout the globe with their artistry and mystical connection.
The program culminates with Bartók’s epic symphonic work, widely considered the “Mount Everest” for musicians and a true showcase of Cape Symphony’s power and virtuosity.

Whale watching officially gets underway this week as Dolphin Fleet opens their 2024 season.
Although it'll still be a little chilly on the water in April, the boats' cabins are climate controlled. So you'll be plenty comfy.
And whales don't mind the cold water temps. They'll be out there "putting on the feed bag" and showing off for you!
*FYI: Looking for a private whale watch charter? They start up in May.

Do you have an animal lover in the family? Or maybe a budding scientist? Cape Cod Museum of Natural History has special April school vacation week events just for them!
Prior years' events have included guided family field walks; the fabulous "Reptiles Rock!" program; nature printing; and an awe-inspiring, inflatable 44-foot Humpback Whale to see from the inside out!
This year's programs haven't been announced yet. I'll update here as soon as I have that info.

Put on your dancin' shoes for this fun event at Preservation Hall!
Contra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance. No fancy footwork needed – if you can walk, you can dance! (All the dances are taught and called. If you're new to contra dance, be sure to get in on the early dances for the basic moves.)
Everyone is welcome at this family friendly event, from total beginners to expert dancers. Bring a partner, or come solo. There are plenty of friendly people in this welcoming dance community!

Opening day at Heritage is always a welcome event - a sure sign that winter is finally in our rear-view mirror.
Nothing says "Welcome to Spring!" like a few hours spent wandering through Heritage's many acres of gardens, alive in colorful, early-season blooms.
Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to visit the gallery buildings filled with fabulous American Art, classic vintage autos, and special exhibitions. The kids will have a blast exploring Hidden Hollow, too!

Meet Kate Formichella and Diane Grieco from Flora Chella Design and watch them demonstrate their wild, elegant floral style!
Have questions about gardening and flower arranging? Ask Kate and Diane about soil health, irrigation, maintenance, vase life, annuals, perennials, sun and shade, container planting, pest control, and more.
There will be a raffle of the arrangements created that day and for some of Kate’s favorite dahlia tubers. There will also be door prizes and refreshments.
All proceeds from this event go towards CCHA Orleans' $1M pledge for Cancer Services at Cape Cod Hospital.
