Detailed Map of Cape Cod
The Best Street Atlas

For the best, most detailed map of Cape Cod, nothing beats a town-by-town street atlas.

Yes, I know. With a mobile device in hand,  on-line maps are right at your fingertips.

But do you really want to do all that scrolling and zooming when you're looking for the nearest lighthouse or the quickest way to the beach?

That's when, in my humble opinion, the Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket & Southeastern Massachusetts Street Atlas is worth its weight in gold!

What's so great about this atlas?

Well, let me put it this way. There are some things you definitely don't want to experience on your Cape Cod vacation:

  • Traffic jams - the ones we locals routinely miss, because we know the "back roads" from one place to the other.

  • GPS glitches - you know, when your on-board navigation device takes you miles out of your way, even though there's actually a much easier, more direct route to your destination.

  • Asking for directions - do you really want to rely on the kindness (and the sense of direction) of complete strangers? 'Nuf said?

With this detailed street atlas in hand, you'll be touring around Cape Cod and the Islands like a local. And discovering lots of fabulous, out-of-the-way spots you otherwise might have missed!

What's in the Atlas?

  • Street Maps - for every town on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket, as well as for Plymouth and other nearby towns on the "mainland" side of the Cape Cod Canal. And when I say detailed, I mean super-detailed! At a glance, you'll know where everything is in every town. Beaches, parks, lighthouses, historic sites, freshwater ponds, museums, airports, bus stations, ferry piers. It's all there, and then some.

  • Maps of Southern New England - covering Massachusets, Connecticut and Rhode Island, and also showing the primary and secondary travel routes from eastern New York State (Long Island to Albany), through southern Vermont and New Hampshire. They're just like the old-fashioned maps we're all accustomed to, except  you won't have to figure out how to re-fold it to put it away ;-)

  • Directories - with lots of helpful information about beaches, ferry services, golf courses, bike trails, lakes, and campgrounds. Wondering how far your vacation rental home is from the island ferry piers? Looking for lifeguarded beaches nearby? Check the directories!

Where to Get Your Cape Cod & Islands Atlas

When visitors see how much is in them, these atlases tend to disappear from store shelves pretty quickly. So they're often in scarce supply around here.

Your best bet is to get your copy before you leave home.

It's a great vacation planning resource. Plus, you'll have it handy during your travels, just in case you need to find a quick traffic detour, or if you'd like to do some sightseeing on your drive down from Boston.

I usually find the best price for the atlas on Amazon.com.

That's where I go for a new atlas when one of our houseguests drives off with my spare copy - which seems to happen all too often!

Happy Travels!
