The Museum opens mid-month, just in time for school vacation week. Bring the young 'uns to learn about the animals that call the Cape their home. Other special February vacation events at Cape Cod Museum of Natural History include birdwatching, films, nature walks, and interactive presentations.

If you're looking for something fun to do on a chilly Sunday afternoon, head out to the Salt Pond Visitors Center in Eastham for the Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore's Winter Film Festival.
This month's film lineup is CastAway (February 3rd) and The Perfect Storm (February 10th).

This month the Cape Symphony and Cotuit Center for the Arts partner to bring the iconic Wizard of Oz (one of my all-time faves!) to the concert stage.
A cast of multi-talented guest artists - including Jessica Curran as Dorothy, Eileen Fendler as the Wicked Witch, Cleo Zani as The Wizard, and others - will bring the original script and score to life, accompanied by the CCSO conducted by Jung-Ho Pak.

One of the premier Cape Cod events of the winter season, this weekend kicks off on Friday with a 5Km Fun Run. Saturday features the 10 Km run. And Sunday is the big day for the Hyannis Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Team Relay.
The Race Expo, cocktail and dinner parties, and the awards ceremonies round out the weekend's festivities.
Back for 2019: The "Double Dip Challenge". Everyone who's ambitious (or IMHO, crazy!) enough to run or walk the 10K on Saturday and the Marathon or Half Marathon on Sunday will receive a special medal to celebrate their accomplishment.
