Kids Cruises in Hyannis
Pirate Adventure Cruise
Question: Are there cruises for kids in Hyannis?
Hello, Helena - Hyannis Harbor is one of the best places on Cape Cod to find a wide variety of cruises.
These harbor cruises are well suited to families with children of all ages:Pirate Adventures Cruise
I took my niece and nephew on the Pirate adventure some years back, and we all had a blast!
The entertainment begins while Sea Gypsy
(the pirate ship) is still at the pier. The kids get all duded up like little pirates with face painting, special sashes, bandanas, etc.
As the ship leaves port and motors across Lewis Bay, the crew spins pirate tales, the little mateys sing pirate songs, and they stop along the way to blast another pirate ship with an enormous water canon. Way cool!!
There's a whole lot of "Arrrrrrrh" going on during the cruise - and treasure is hauled up from the sea and shared among the kids.
Although this cruise is advertised as being best for ages 3 to 10, I can attest that it's a total hoot for young and old alike!

The Duckmobile is fun for everyone, too. The festively painted amphibious vehicle first does a little tour of downtown Hyannis by land. Then it heads to the Harbor, where it rolls down a boat ramp into the water. Quite exciting!
Then Duckie tours Hyannis inner harbor ... and there's a whole lotta "quack, quack, quacking" going on.

For kids who like fishing, there's also a Duckmobile-like amphibious-vehicle fishing cruise designed specially for children.
The great thing about this unique fishing boat is that it stays in a very protected part of Lewis Bay. There are fish to be caught, but very little in the way of wave action. So seasickness shouldn't be an issue :-)
Plus, the whole adventure is only an hour and a half long. Enough time to catch fish and have tons of fun, but not so long that you risk the little ones getting bored, cranky, etc.

HyLine Cruises' special Sunday afternoon Ice Cream Float
is a yummy way to get out on the water!
If you don't mind the kids getting "all sugared up", this hour-long harbor cruise is fun for the entire family. During the tour, passengers are treated to a custom-created ice cream sundae.
